As a recognized training centre for medical students, doctors, nurses, midwives and allied health staff, the Minimal Access Surgery Training Centre at PYNEH offers a wide range of training activities and education including lectures, consultancy services, hospital visit practicum & attachment and in-company training. The courses cover basic theory, hands-on simulation, and live demonstration of the most commonly applied operations.

The centre can play a co-ordinating role between different clinical specialities, namely Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Interventional Radiology and Therapeutic Endoscopy, on various combined training programmes and research. An education programme for practising surgeons' continuing medical education is important for this rapidly developing surgical speciality
